The very beginning opens with the three main characters and sets the scene which underlines the entire story. This episode just wets our appetite as we're left with many questions to ask. Some of which remain unanswered until Part 4!

We are introduced to the main characters one by one but we are not told the connection between them. We however detect bitterness and can establish that they were all good friends a time before. By far the most impressive part of the Macross Saga is the Mecha and we're not disappointed. The YF-21 is on show but no sign of the YF-19. One key development is Isamu's introduction to Sharon Apple, a computer generated pop Megastar soon to grace the planet Eden.
